Interview Preparation
It is in every case preferred to be protected over heartbroken. That familiar proverb can apply to numerous circumstances in your day to day existence. It is smarter to gaze upward where you are going before you take off from the house. It is smarter to understand what you need to cook before you purchase staple supplies. In particular, it is smarter to plan for your movement interview than to go in blind.
Put on a proper dress. The immigration interview is part of a formal legal procedure, and wearing accordingly shows that you take that process very seriously. This does not require you to wear a tuxedo or gown, but it does prohibit you from wearing flip-flops or short shorts. Dress cautiously at all times.
Don't try to fool yourself. Being truthful is always the best strategy in an immigration interview. If you are asked a question to which you do not know the answer, do not try to make one up. It is preferable to state "I am not sure" rather than guess what the proper response is. Don't attempt to please the Officer by saying what you believe they want to hear; instead, respond honestly. If you do not understand the question, please ask the Officer to clarify.
Make duplicates. Being prepared entails presenting the necessary documentation to your interview. More importantly, it entails bringing the original papers as well as duplicates to deliver to the Officer! Having everything you need with you demonstrates to the Officer that you are responsible and proactive in terms of saving them time.
Be True to Yourself! An immigration interview is an opportunity for you to demonstrate your personality and friendliness to the office. It's natural to be scared about it, but don't let that stop you! Simply be honest and transparent, and they will appreciate seeing the sort of person you are.
